How have we adapted and how can we help?

Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic things have been really hard within the Wedding Industry, we have all seen pubs and restaurants re-open allowing you to eat and drink surrounded by strangers, yet we are still not allowed to gather with family and friends to celebrate Love.

Here at Pegasus Discos, I have done everything I can to follow government guidelines and continue to do so. Keeping up to date as restrictions change and adjusting my services to give you a day to remember.

For the last 10 years or so I have provided “The All-Day Experience” entertaining you and your guests from the moment you arrive at the venue until the end of the night.

But, as I write this, evening parties are still not allowed; no loud music, singing and dancing is to be discouraged, etc. But with a few adjustments that shouldn’t stop you having a fun filled day.

I no longer think of myself as just a DJ, more an ‘Entertainer’ and ‘Wedding Specialist’ and actually consider myself to be part of the Wedding Industry more than the DJ Industry.

If you were to ask anyone to describe a DJ this will conjure up images of loud music and flashing lights with Grandma and Grandpa asking them to “turn it down” (while generally being sat right next to the speakers) – we offer so much MORE!!!

So, what is available for you?

Music – (Obviously)

Background music during the Wedding breakfast is still allowed, but rather than listening to a CD being played through a crackly old hi-fi (who’s old enough to remember putting together a mix tape of your favourite choons?) Why not let me work with you to create the perfect blend of music. All played through my high-end speaker system, still at background levels, of course.

Ceremony

Music is currently still allowed at the ceremony again still at background levels. Your choices for the processional, signing of the register and the recessional should obviously be personal to you but they can also set the tone for the rest of the day. So let me control the fades in & out all through a discreet high end speaker.

Hosting

So weddings at the moment are a little different to what we have been used to. But having someone there to take the pressure from you goes a long way. Let me look after you and your guests, let me worry about the timeline, but most of all let me keep you all informed as to what you can all look forward to as well as entertained.

Speeches

Even more so at the moment as we need to avoid raised voices. Having a microphone for the speeches can easily be overlooked, to ensure everyone hears the sentiments, the funny stories and the jokes I can provide a microphone and speaker system. The microphones will be cleaned on the morning and I will also provide everyone with their own coloured windshield (the foam cover for the mic) in a plastic bag so that only the person speaking touches it.

Quizzes

What better way of getting your guests interacting than with a fun quiz where all of the questions are based on the newlyweds, or let’s shake it up a bit and have some of the questions based on family members. Alternatively we can just do a music quiz – put that knowledge gleaned from all those Zoom quizzes to use!

Musical Bingo

How about instead of a musical quiz let’s add a twist to the traditional game of bingo. I can supply the bingo cards that rather than numbers they have song titles, I will play short snippets of the songs and you mark them off, simple!!

Mr & Mrs (the Newly Wed game)

We have all seen the T.V. show you are given a red and blue paddle each, I will then ask you some questions where the answer can ONLY be one half of the couple, you just hold up the appropriate paddle and hopefully you will match. Social distancing is easy to observe as you, the happy couple, are exempt from distancing yourselves from each other (that’s lucky)

Selfie Wizard

Described as the Eco-Friendly disposable, the Selfie Wizard is the latest bit of techie kit and it’s already proving popular at our events. Wedding and party guests love to snap a selfie or two while enjoying a celebration. There are no apps to download, just connect to our Wi-Fi and in a couple of clicks, your guests’ photos are shared on screen. Best of all you get all of these pics (even the ones I deem inappropriate for display ☺) on a USB memory stick to keep.

It also goes without saying these are only suggestions and you may have your own ideas and I would love to hear all about them.

I also work with a large network of other great suppliers (our own wedding family) so if you are looking for something specific I can probably point you in the right direction.

Of course, as and when restrictions are eased we can always look at changing your entertainment plans.

One size doesn’t fit all and I don’t offer packages, so if you like what you have read and would like to know more get in touch and let’s have a chat

So stay safe and I hope to see you all out on the dancefloor as soon as we are allowed
